A co-operative can be described as an organisation set up for the benefit of its members. A housing co-operative is a small housing association run along co-operative principles. It is owned and managed by the members of the co-operative. Most housing co-operatives are Fully Mutual and any further reference to housing co-operatives in this. We are a housing co-op based in Brighton (as our name would suggest, on the edges of town), where we own one large property housing 9 people (plus dog, guinea pigs, rat, and chickens) and lease two smaller properties on the same street on the other side of town housing another 8 people plus additional dog and cat.
